Our History
Mike and Vicki Johanneck began Johanneck Water back in the fall of 1984. Mike had been working for the water conditioning division of Quesenberry’s Appliance in downtown Redwood Falls, and when Quesenberry’s expressed an interest in selling that portion of their business, Mike jumped at the chance, and his excited, but more cautious, wife followed him down the rabbit hole.
Mike and Vicki purchased the equipment, inventory, and rental fleet from Quesenberry’s, and Mike’s Softener Service was born. By 1995, the downtown location was starting to feel a little cramped so Mike and Vicki decided to move to their current, more spacious location on the busiest edge of Redwood Falls, where they happily remained until…
Their sons Scott and Jay returned to the nest, when they began looking for an opportunity to expand. In 2007, they discovered that the EcoWater Systems dealership in Willmar was available for purchase, and Mike, Vicki, Scott, and Jay took a leap of faith and became Johanneck Water Conditioning, Inc.
The Willmar store opened in January 2008, and less than two years later, in December 2009, and feeling not-quite overwhelmed, they added the location in New Ulm.
